Behind the Scenes: How We Handcraft Our Products
There's a reason our products feel different. It's not magic — it's intention. Every Velvet Bath Bar product is made by hand, in small batches, with ingredients chosen for a reason. Here's a look at what goes into every bar, soak, and butter before it reaches you.
Small-Batch, Always
We don't mass-produce. We never will. Small-batch production means we can control every step of the process — from the temperature at which we blend our butters to the exact moment we add our donkey milk. It takes more time. It takes more care. But the result is a product that performs the way skincare should.
Ingredient Selection: Nothing Random
Every ingredient on our label earned its place. We ask three questions before anything makes it into a formula:
- Does it benefit the skin?
- Is it sourced responsibly?
- Does it align with our commitment to clean beauty?
If the answer to any of those is no, it doesn't make the cut. That's why you'll find nourishing butters, skin-loving oils, and of course — our star ingredient, donkey milk — in everything we make.
The Handcrafting Process
Our bars are cold-processed, which means we use lower temperatures to preserve the integrity of our ingredients. Heat can destroy the very vitamins and enzymes that make donkey milk so powerful. By keeping things cool and slow, we protect what matters most.
Our body butters are whipped by hand to achieve that signature velvety texture. Our soaks are blended in small runs so every scoop is as fresh and potent as possible.
Quality Before Quantity
We cure our bars for weeks — not days. This patience produces a harder, longer-lasting bar that lathers beautifully and delivers consistent results from the first use to the last.
When you open a Velvet Bath Bar product, you're holding something made with real hands, real care, and a real commitment to your skin. That's not something you can automate.
